The song was originally titled Victims of Pain but when the September 1990 Demos were recorded the band ran out of studio time to lay down the vocals.

The song was then shelved and was later used in a video to celebrate the life of Dave Brandani.

When the 30 years CD was being put together the band decided to put it on the album and dedicate it to Dave.

About the Recording

Produced by Dino Papanicolaou
Executive Producer Curt Lorraine
Recorded at Sonora West, Burbank CA. in September 1990
Piano by Dino Papanicolaou

Once the music was recorded producer Dino Papanicolaou had the idea to add piano to the track.
The band liked the idea and it has been said this gives the song a bit of a Lynyrd Skynyrd vibe to it.

"Dave Brandani was our buddy and brother and came with us on the dream to make it in Hollywood. He was our counselor, inspiration, comedian and the best person you will ever meet. He was an awesome road manager for us, Love/Hate, Funhouse, Hardly Dangerous and many other bands. He actually made it and toured the world with Love/Hate. They did tours with AC/DC, Dio, and Skid Row. We lost him way too early in a motorcycle accident. He was a member of the band, he was and still is our brother."

"Dave Brandani was a very good friend of mine before we moved to Hollywood.  He played bass in a band with me back in Florida called Fatal Vision. He was such a cool dude.  He was funny, kind and very smart.  He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back.  We had a lot of good times together.  He and I drove from Orlando to Hollywood in his van.  He built our stage and designed and made our lights at our practice facility back in Florida.  He was really good at that stuff.  He went on to be the road manager for Love/Hate a few years after we moved to Hollywood.  Unfortunately, he died in a motorcycle accident in late 1992.  We were all devastated and heart-broken by his passing."

"Dave Brandani always saw the lighter side of everything and when I think of some of our times together I laugh out loud. He really made L.A. feel like a home sometimes and he always had your back. He never seemed afraid of anything, and always brought me up when I was second guessing myself. The important thing for all of us to remember is to live life that much more for him and everyone that had life taken from them. Everyone pictures being old and being happy. Brandani's death is proof that death doesn't care if you are ready. Live every moment like it's your last and take nothing for granted. And when everything is going great and you find yourself happy, think of him then as well."

"Dave Brandani was a childhood friend of mine back in Florida. His family moved away when I was about 9 or 10 and I didn't meet up with him again until the Lypswitch days about 10 years later. The cool part is once we realized we knew each other as kids our bond became even stronger. His work ethic was unmatched, and it didn't take long until other bands noticed this and hired him. Before you know it he was with Love/Hate and he toured the world. As busy as he was I'll never forget when he called me from backstage at the Philadelphia Spectrum (Where they were opening for Dio) to say happy birthday. That's just how Dave was, he cared, he really cared. I miss the days when he would be on break from the road and would stay with us for a week or so. The tour stories he told were awesome and when we were doing shows and he was in town, he would still come down and help us. He never needed to do that, and we didn't ask, that's just who he was. I'll never forget him"
