The song was featured on KNAC 105.5 Radio on December 24, 1989 on Craig Williams' Show.

It would be the first of many appearances of the song on the legendary KNAC radio.

The song tells the story of a young kids dream to move to Hollywood and become a Rock Star.

David: "He left home when he was seventeen, went to that place to follow his dreams"

Mick: "He slept on benches, and under cars, goin' through hell just be a star"

KA: "He hid his blues, he hid his stress, everyone knows he's better than the rest"

Danny: "He's so cool, well its a crime, the girls all know he's a walking good time"

Rattlesnake Skin

Music and Lyrics by David Love
Written and recorded in 1989

Shooting star, Shot down in flames
He's a shotgun pointed in your face,
He left home when he was seventeen,
Went to that place to follow his dreams,

He slept on benches, and under cars,
Goin through hell just be a star,
From Hollywood blues to the hole in his jeans,
Now he's got his face on every magazine.

The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in,
Day after day, again and again
The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in

They tried to tell him he was a sight,
He said "Rock 'n Roll ain't pretty and neither am I"
He hid his blues, he hid his stress
Everyone knows he's better than the rest
He's so cool, well its a crime,
The girls all know he's a walking good time,
Well he's a murder, the first degree
He's the man someday I'm gonna be

The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in,
Day after day, again and again
The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in

The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in,
Day after day, again and again
The boys so bad livin in sin,
He's so tough like Rattlesnake Skin,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in

The boy he's so bad, oh he's so fuckin bad,
Nobody knows the trouble he's in.

About the Recording

Produced by Alex Woltman and Elliot Solomon
Recorded all over LA in December 1989
Re-Mastered by Mick O'Brien at Bloodline Studious - Orlando, FL. in 2018

Alex Woltman and Elliot Solomon were a great production team that did the recording on spec back in late 1989. Pre-Production was done at Hot Dog Studios and the actual recordings were done all over. Guitars were done at Alex's home in Woodland Hills and vocals were done after hours (AKA The middle of the night) at a small studio in the Hollywood hills just north of the Coconut Teaszer off of Sunset Blvd.
